Growing up. :3

Fri Jun 20, 2008, 8:10 AM
*facepalm* so it took almost an entire year of fucking up, and screwing, 4 breakdowns, 2 epiphanies, 2 walks in a semibad neighbor hood, a halfdate and a several emo rants, to actaully become an adult.Well for me anyways.

things currently bothering me:
Dad-....I seriously don't need him in my life...
Geometry/Spanish- i need to them finish before summer.
Politcal views- you know the shiz, on same-sex marriage, meds for certain mental deceases, and people who think they're nothing.

So we got this letter in the mail. about same sex marriage and how this Eugene guy wanted us to send $20 to stop it.

Me and my mom got into it. and I lost only because i was cut off when my aunt came to visit.

She brought up points about how certain jobs wouldn't want to hire people for their sexuality. I said that was wrong because everyone has a right to equal opportunties. She said alright, but why do they have to have jobs like kindergarten teachers or any job around kids? I wanted to say 'so that when they grow up, they won't beat the crap out of gays calling them fags and such.' I couldn't answer this because she quickly went into pedophelia, I stopped her there and told her they wee two different things.

Homosexuality: love of the same gender
Pedophilia: Mental decease based on desires of lust for someone younger

She brushed it off as nothing, and continued saying how hitler and his generals had homosexual tendencies. I retorted say, "Hitler isn't exactly the best example for this... he had too many problems going on to seriously think straight. He was depressed, high, and had a horrible childhood."

"But he still had homosexual tendencies."

"We're talking about someone who's borderline insane."

Then my aunt came over. My mom's not stupid or nothing. She's just stuck in her views of life. Still love her.

Next year, I'm buying a table at the Detroit Art Fair. Selling pictures, much better then anything I post here i assure you, bookmarks, maybe even some jewelry etc.

I'm becoming someone. THE LUMP OF CLAY IS ALIIIIIIIIVE!!! *flails*

The gang i bang with

I know what it's like to have stubborn, narrow minded relatives. Sounds like you handled yourself and expressed your points very well, and you don't let that kind of arguement change how you feel about your mother, so you really are handleing it very maturely.

:3 thanks. can't get angry over every little squabble. and love is always stronger then hate. X3

Parents are never truly going to understand. Firstly, you have your views on life because of how you were taught. Not by your relatives, but by your school teachers.

Kids spend mostly their entire childhoods in school so the influences that they are exposed to come from adults: teachers.

Anywho...I think you had a really good point. Also, it's illegal to discriminate against someone's sexual orientation or preference.
:iconjazmynmoon21:
yeah. parents, teachers, adults in general. Everything we are supposed to know about being an adult usually comes from an adult. :3 And my views of life...this may sound silly, but they're actually based on childhood fantasies, of peace and good triumphs over evil. So i still try and inquire them into life today. and your icon... heheh. excited emo makes me giggle.

My grandma is like that.
The other day, we were watching the news report on the same sex marriage thing and I was like "yayyy ^ - ^" and my grandma looks at me and goes "I don't care if those people want to be stupid". I asked her what she meant and she said I was trying to argue or something. In all honesty, I just didn't understand what she meant.

sigh.
